Finally the mosaics for the 3 water features have been installed! I can't wait to see the fountains in action. The beautiful bronze sculptures are "Tall Rush Spikes" made by Nerine Martini, the artist/planner of the Blacktown Village Green redevelopment. Nerine also designed the grevillea pattern that has been etched into the concrete wall.
The official opening is Thursday 9th September, 11.30am.

Blacktown Project
I've been working hard this year, creating 20m of mosaic wall, commissioned by the City of Blacktown. It's been a collaborative project between Nerine Martini, Robyn Caughlan, and myself. Each tile is hand-made to create a softer, more customised look.
"Warami Ngallawah Mittigar" is from the local Indigenous Dharug language, translating to "Hello Friend, Come In, Sit Down", which is a nice welcome for a public space!
Currently I'm working on the tiles for 3 water features that will be installed on the same site later this year.
You can view these artworks and others at the Blacktown City Council chambers, Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown, NSW.
